Sarah Blair Jenkins

My training is in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. In this approach, we imagine what it would be like to say anything and everything. For this reason, anyone can come and talk about any issue that arises for them and find that it can be explored. Additionally, I am an AASECT Certified Sex Therapist. I also have training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). I have extensive experience working with trauma, anxiety, depression, issues with sex and sexuality, and with people in sustained recovery from substance use disorders. I have experience supporting folks who identify as gender diverse and/or erotically marginalized.

I attended Smith College School for Social Work in Northampton, Massachusetts and have worked in both residential and outpatient settings. My work has taken me to Houston, Texas; Cambridge, Massachusetts; and Asheville, North Carolina. I am a current member of the American Psychological Association Division of Psychoanalysis and Psychoanalytic Psychology (39) and serve as Secretary on their Board of Directors. Additionally, I serve on the Board of Section IX: Psychoanalysis for Social Responsibility. In 2021, I completed the University of Michigan School for School Work Sexual Health Certificate Program with a concentration in Sex Therapy. I am a current member of American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) and the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
